SETTING THE TABLE: CLAY & NATURAL DYE CROSSOVER

  • Make Space Workshop + Classroom 31 Masters Drive, Unit 1 St. Augustine, FL, 32084 United States (map)

Guest Teacher Kristin + Bre

This two week class is a crossover of handbuilding with Bre & natural dye with Kristin. In the first week, each student will be given enough clay to create a minimum of 4 napkin rings, with plenty extra remaining. You may use the remaining clay to create other small table knick-knacks (candleholders, spoons, chopstick rests, ect..) or just have fun with it! In the second week, alongside glazing your work from week one, students will learn the Japanese folding technique of Shibori from Kristin, and dip dye 4 dinner napkins in indigo. Kristin will have additional items for sale if you wish to dye more. Ceramic work will be available for pickup within 2 weeks of the final class.

This class is for adults age 18+. Those over 21 may always BYOB. All supplies are included as well as an indigo dye worksheet, if you wish to try it on your own!
