Guest Teacher Raheleh Filsoofi
This two-part participatory, collaborative, & non-traditional clay workshop is led by CEAM's Artist-in-Residence & sponsored by Flagler College.
This workshop centers on the interplay between the body, clay, and place. On 2/3, participants will travel together to discover and collect local clay. Through a guided isolation process, they will extract clay for use in a body movement exercise and performance on 2/7. As participants interact with the clay, their own bodies, and others, the creation of ceramic vessels and body movements becomes a catalyst for conversations about the significance of the place, the materials used, and the connection between our bodies and the surrounding environment in the artwork's creation. Please note that this is a participatory, collaborative, and non-traditional clay workshop.
Sat. Feb 3, those who can will travel together to source local clay- we will meet at MAKE SPACE at 9 am to car pool, and expect to be back no later than 1 pm. Wed Feb 7 we will meet for the second part of the series, led by Raheleh, from 6-9 pm at the studio. Sign-ups are for 2/7- let us know if you plan to attend 2/3!
